Gossen Metrawatt lost their minds - tottaly
« on: June 12, 2011, 02:08:03 am »
I was checking the DMM pricing in the German market and found this Gossen Metrawatt DMM,
CATII 300 to have an pricing of 635EUR.....  and still I am getting smokes from my ears .

With specs as generic DMM plus automotive use, that price is ridiculously extreme ..  :o

Check the link, and below another link with translation in English ..
And if you find the magic on it, that justifies this pricing, please share it with me too,
because I did not found it so far !!

the magic is its a very small size compared to netbook, but the cost is twice the decent netbook. i'm sure there is intel i7 like processor inside the gossen.

You're probably paying a lot for the name which is probably true to some extent with Fluke.

Conrad isn't always cheap when it comes to measurement devices etc. Farnell sells it for 517 EUR (EDIT: sorry that's the analog one), Amazon has it for 700+ (lol).

My favorite shops don't seem to sell it though :(

Well I am starting to believe that Gossen makes lots of cash from all the other stuff that they make,
like electrical switches for panels & PLC & electrical control automation's,
that they do not care at all about their DMM market share.

This is the only explanation that makes some sense.
And the bottom line is that if they do not care why should I ?

Modern day equivalent of a gold neck-chain with medallion:- a Gossen meter with the leads tied around your neck!
