Hot air soldering station
« on: September 19, 2016, 07:52:48 pm »
Hey!

I want to buy a soldering station (hot air) and I saw here that the 858d+ is not really good. But I found this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hot-998D-Hot-Air-Rework-Soldering-Iron-Station-Welder-Hot-Air-Gun-Nozzles/32607002829.html
It is 998D and I wonder whether this is is also dangerously wired etc. The review are actually good, but I don't trust it.
So has anyone used this machine and/or can you tell me if this is a good buy?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Yihua 858D and mine works reasonably well.  At least as well as can be expected for under $50USD shipped.  I did open mine and it was wired correctly but YMMV.  If you get it, peek under the skirt to see if anything is amiss.  If not, you're good to go and if there is some wiring/grounding issues, just fix it and you're still good to go.  Just remember that it isn't a $3000 JBC unit.
