HTP Invertig 221 TIG Welder (o-scoped in action)
« on: January 18, 2018, 05:25:12 pm »
FWIW, since the forum's not related to welding, I thought I'd share 2 short video's here (from a favorite channel of mine, not on the big list).

What result you expect by posting those videos?

- It is obvious that his 65Amp probe is clipping. It is unlikely that welder outputs positive "flat as table" pulse and negative which seems more like real world waveform. IN addition to that - scope screen shows amplitude as 680mV which is 68Amps peak, more than probe can handle.

In chat, one shouldn't always expect replies, sometimes it's just sharing things within our tech genre. You'd be surprised how many are here who can use a welder but have never heard of "This Old Tony's" channel even though it's right up there with Dave. BTW, I've been sharing YT channel's on the blog for a while 8)

I did MIG welding which went surprisingly good :) Whatever... Did Old Tony resolved his issue with current measurements? I am not going to contact him on youtube or any other media

Yes, he learnt something about measurements and showed it in the 2nd video.

Yup, it was sorted-out in posts made by his YT followers. Like Dave, he's "real" and man enough to laugh it off and admit when he's hit a wall.
Good presenter's learn that people can detect a "know-it-all" on their  :bullshit: within just a few minutes. Honesty still works I guess..
