You must know the exact figures . The apple A chip family is a hunk o' crap .

I'm by no means an advocate of Apple, but your lack of appreciation for the inherent complexities of modern ASIC design leads me to believe that you've never designed anything clocked above 100MHz; to call this chip a hunk o' crap is nothing more than ignorant consumer hubris.
WHEN placed next to the TI OMAP 4xxx and the Qualcomm Snapdragons . No chance mate .

Oh Hell....  Here we go....!    ;D

I was thinking Yugo vs. Moskvitch, or maybe for American counterparts, Chevette vs. Pinto.  Sorry, I'll stop now.  Carry on.

I didn't notice it, underneath the LCD panel the power supply was unshielded and the transformer was less then an inch from the hard drive in question.

On the plus side they used a double sided PCB for the power supply on the down side a technician less savy when it comes to high voltages could have gotten themselves killed trying to replace a hard drive.
Wouldn't you unplug the machine before doing anything like that? I guess you could still get bitten by caps.

We'd all like to see a teardown of her, but we all know that they use an attractive woman to lure in lonely geeks.  If I'm wrong, please forgive my assumptions.  I absolutely love seeing women that are actually involved in science and engineering.  It's incredibly attractive and it makes me happy to see more diversity.

If Dave was a busty woman, he'd get 100M views without a sweat.

Nevertheless, I prefer Dave's enthusiastic and professional method along with his humor.

I must be getting old.  Watched the video and kept thinking "less cute young woman, more iPad guts."
More guts here: http://www.designnews.com/document.asp?doc_id=240862
(and there's a link there that goes to chip micrographs.)

You know, that is fixable these days...  Not sure if Dave would be interested though.  8) 8) 8)

I doubt it would be "wife approved".  Nevertheless, that would be a terrifying site.  Seriously, mortifying.

I wasn't meaning to be sexist as I have great respect for females in the technical industry.  I'm just stating that us nerds can't resist a smart, sexy woman.  Can't we all agree on this?

yep and the caps were mounded on the underside of the PCB with the leads on top making them very easy to accidentally touch.

that was a terrible video, I don't know who it was aimed at but I just got the sense she didn't really know anything about electronics, it's kind of like the "booth babe" argument. people that would be interested in this type of video don't need some attractive girl to keep our interest. If you're going to get an attractive girl to host these videos then get one who knows their engineering AND has a nice voice like Jeri for example.
