Still very slow to make a post, from here...
From sitecloud response, I argue it must be a quantistic effect that stretched the time variable ;D

Hmmm i dont know Scrat, sounds like the Flux Capacitor is on the way out to me. Or maybe the 'Cloud' has shrunk due to global warming.  ;D

Response is quite reasonable for me.
Beats me what the problem is, although sitecloud are only new and have been ironing out kinks in their cloud system from the start, having to resort to changing from Amazon to a new service provider.
I don't know if it's just more quirks in their system that need ironing out, or if their pipe or resources aren't big enough somehow?

Dave.

Response is quite reasonable for me.

Hmm. It just took over 20 seconds to post that message and get me back.
MUCH slower than other Simple Machines forums I'm on that are typically in the order of a few seconds.

I've switched on the "Use a persistent connection" option for the forum, let me know if this makes a difference.

I have just posted a message and it seemed to be much faster.

Opening up this to post the above took about 10 seconds

The average respond time of the forum at my end are about 7-8 seconds .

Slow speed and dropouts appear to be repaired here. Looking good! :)

There has been a big outage for the last hour or so, not just my site, but Sitecloud's "cloud" by the looks of it.

Back up now and seems lightning quick... *press POST"...

Things seem to have improved a lot in the last day or so Dave, dunno whether it was that 'persistant connection' button or what but the site is quicker now.

Well its known that ping traces can not tell much about the server handling ability.

Even so , this moment that the server looks to operate normally , I will post an picture ,
of how the ping looks from my end .

The connection between Europe and US looks to have issues , doubles the ping time.

It's really flying at my end now. Quicker than when I flicked the persistent connection flag.
So I think sitecloud have fixed something after the big (unknown) server wide outage today.
Let's hope it stays that way.

Dave.

I got an error 503 today ....  an total black out of the service .

About two hours back ..

I checked the with trace route , it was the same readings like the above.
And so its not the lines , its the server that stopped handling the requests.

As you've probably notices, we are now back online.
Sitecloud said the problem was with the datacentre at Singlehop.

This is the worst i have seen it. Never seen it this slow. I think Dave has found the most unreliable host ever.

My 2 cents thrown in... :P

It's getting ridiculous.
I'm seriously thinking of moving back to my old Hostmonster account. Pain in the arse to do though.
