Soldering Station Comparison
« on: January 16, 2012, 09:22:13 pm »
Dave, are you considering doing a review of some good quality soldering stations.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the Metcal MX 5000, Thermaltronics 9000, Weller and Hakko 951. I have a particular interest in the first two as they appear to come out of the same factory presenting what appears to be identical design.

I would also like to hear your ideas on Curie Temp probe technology.

To other bloggers, anyone with experience of the Metcal and Thermaltronics .... likes, dislikes, warranty issues, ease of purchase etc ???

Thank you ..........

From reading another thread, it stated that Thermaltronics is a separate company founded by some ex-Metcal employees when the patents ran out.

Past that, what Weller stations are you looking at?
