Looking for... IEC Socket to USB power supply.
« on: May 19, 2018, 07:59:26 am »
Hi all,

Not sure if it's me using the wrong search terms  :-// but I'm looking for a few IEC-to-USB power supplies - I can't seem to find any.
So it will plug into an IEC receptacle on a UPS and provide 5V at around 2A via a USB connection, preferably in a 'pigtail' format.
I know I can do the AC power plug to IEC socket but I'd like to have a neater all-in-one solution, does anyone know if such a product exists?

It's to run a Raspberry Pi and my 3D printer from a UPS. There's lots of different solutions that aren't as 'plug and play' but I thought it weird that such a power supply seems not to exist or is rare at least.

TIA

Can you not just get an IEC C14 to Type I lead and plug any old USB power brick or phone charger into it? I've never seen a USB power device with a male IEC lead on the end. Not to say they don't exist, but they aren't common.

Yes, but I was looking for a single device. I'm surprised no one *seems* to be making them...

seems a bit too niche to save a 2$ cable.

Try to find a large USB PSU (the kind that used to be popular to power smartphone clusters for Perk mining) that accepts an IEC input?

Actually, it's indeed interesting that there are several models of USB PSU on the market that come with a modular mains attachment and have a range of plugs available for whatever local mains plug system, but there no IEC C14 attachment (I guess out all the IEC plugs, you're after the C14 type).
