Can anyone recommend any agents/suppliers/companies that specialise in sourcing hard to find/end of life/obsolete components?
Preferably in the EU but not essential.

For semiconductors, Rochester Electronics is a good bet.
They have contract options to buy EOL parts with most major semiconductor manufacturers.

Not cheap, though.

I was about to ask this very question. I have a Motorola 68030 currently soldered to a Macintosh LC II motherboard and a 68881 math coprocessor I bought on eBay. I'm designing a system as we speak based on these two chips. I was hoping to find spares for these or hopefully the 68030 in a PGA package. Rochester Electronics has everything, and while pricey, I just don't need two extra processors or four coprocessors. :/ *sigh!* Having a love of retro computers can be depressing at times.

Little Diode from the UK, also sells on eBay.
I got some very old Litronix LED displays from them, but they were all blems/cosmetic defects and half worked.

I found some old components a Hartnagel in Munich Germany.
A 500MB 2.5" IDE SSD for a L40SX... Just to mention one finding

Gamma spectrometer works. Now some yellow crystals need regenerating and testing.
