MOSFET failure
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:51:46 am »
Am designed  inverter 12 to 200v

One MOSFET is driving from pin 11 of sg3525 this MOSFET is fail when I  turned on the inverter
And sometimes this MOSFET(irf3205)  is fail when I connect the load like 15 Watt
Sometimes this MOSFET explore and crack

Another MOSFET is working fine (driven from pin. 14)

How to fix this problem

Do you have proper soft start and cycle by cycle current limiting?
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

For the soft start I use 10uf it will give 0.5S delayed

And what about the cycle by cycle current limit?

There is some dead time
But there no current limiting ckt

Well there's your problem. :) No surprise it's not robust against inrush.

Not static spike voltage problems with a 'MOS' device ??
Diagonal of 1x1 square = Root-2. Ok.
Diagonal of 1x1x1 cube = Root-3 !!!  Beautiful !!

I  think it is because of spike
