https://estore.ti.com/EZ430-F2013-MSP430-USB-Stick-Development-Tool-P800.aspx

Coupon code "EZFREE2013"

Not sure what the terms and conditions are. They look like a convenient USB sized version of the launchpad kit :)

Cool, ordered.
Let's see if they ship to Australia.

Got the usual bullshit about not using it for nuclear weapons etc

Thanks for the heads up on this. :D

Same here, and for a domestic order. No category for hobbyist, so they got BS answers. I'd like to meet the folks who think it's going to stop someone.

Thanks OP, got my order in for 3 before the coupon expired. Got confirmation tonight that my order should be sent out on the 7th! These will be awesome to play around with, especially for free.

Cool. Still waiting for mine to arrive.

TI had a limited number of them (obviously).

Got posted elsewhere which is why it probably "sold out" (can something free even do that...).

http://dangerousprototypes.com/2011/01/03/msp430-usb-dev-stick-giveaway/ one day after here ;)

No idea where it originated. I was told about it via a friend on IRC :)

I got mine 2 days ago. Not bad considering it shipped from the Netherlands to Canada! At first I thought they mistakenly only send me the documentation discs but when I opened the DVD case, I noticed the boards inside! Hopefully I will have some time to play with these this weekend.

I too got a shipping notice.
Big thanks to metalphreak for this!
Ever since the Launchpad kit I've been on and off with the MSP430, now I'll be able to delve in with both hands. I expected to have to wait a few months to pick one of these up, then out of nowhere someone in Madrid emptied out my bank account!  ::)  Every little bit helps, and this helps a lot. :D

Mine was shipped from the Netherlands, Fedex is pretty fast in my experience though.

you guys are lucky, I ordered just in time so that the offer wasn't over but they didn't have enough to send on hand. Order status says that it won't even ship till late this month. If they really did use up all of their stock, I am surprised that they let more people use the offer since many people on this forum said it was already expired when they tried.

I'm surprised they let people order more than one; also surprised that some people did.

My order status is still "processing / waiting to ship". Estimated ship date was today. Typical TI, first orders in get shipped last! :P

I ordered 3. One is for myself, and the other two for any of my uni friends who may have missed out. If I do end up with 1 or 2 spare I'm willing to ship them to people in Australia who missed out.

I use the programmer I got with the EZ430-RF2500 which is almost the same as the F2013 as my primary MSP430 programmer/debugger.  It's just easy to work with and pretty fast.  Only problem is that it does not support some newer Spy-Bi-Wire chips.  The USB stick that comes with the Chronos watch supports the most chips.  There is instructions on how to update the firmware in your stick with the Chronos stick firmware, but it requires the standard USB Programmer.

I have a 4 pin in circuit programmer/debugger connector which I add to all my boards and I made an adapter from the 1.27mm connector on the USB stick to the ICP header.

I checked my status today and it said the same thing as yours.

A couple hours later, the wife comes home with this obnoxious sized box with my name on it (all packages goes to her office since there is someone there to sign for them) and it was the TI Stick.
