Hi!

I'm Paul.

I don't work in any type of electronics, nor have I studied any area of electronics, I am 100% self educated from books and Internet.  I work as an engineer in the aerospace sector specialising in fuel system components.  I'm into lasers at the moment and my current project was my first experience of micro controllers.

I used Atmel's atmega328p with the arduino boot loader, this was ideal for the project, as several of the i/o pins where setup for PWM with a simple analogWrite command to control the speed of two motors.

Here is a link to the home of my project.

http://www.fxlasers.co.uk/

Here is a link to the part finished project in action.

The project has come a long way since I took these photos, with an etched PCB, much improved Arduino sketch (fully commented) better optics.

I intend to fully publish photo's design schematics and the arduino sketch on the relevant part of this forum.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to using this forum.

What a long thread!

Well to add to it, I live in Melbourne, Australia and work as an IT/AV tech.

I've had an interest in electronics since a young age (I'm 24 now), but I'm certainly better at IT and AV!

I recently purchased an Arduino Uno and have started playing with electronics again.
Full time IT/AV tech from Melbourne VIC Australia. Newbie to electronics here to learn and maybe meet some friends :).

Hi, I am Stanley from Malaysia... I'm in the IT/Networking industry and recently discovered Arduino and electronic. I always wanted to learn about electronics since my teenage years but after I started playing with PCs and programming, this little passion of mine was put aside until now..August 2010.

Reading a lot of books about electronics, components, opamps, regulators, RC circuits and a lot more, most of the time , I probably had to read it a few time to understand what it means...

With the popularity of Arduino and Make magazine, I think electronic hobbyist is making a come back ...

Would like to learn more from the experienced electronic gurus here...

Found EEVblog when I was looking for a digital multimeter... got myself a Sanwa CD770 DMM after my mini analog multimeter movement coil stop working...

Stanley

Hello,

I'm a computer engineer, working as a junior hardware engineer.

I'm a hobbyist in electronics and make stuff for the heck of it because it interests me.  My on-going projects are a digital audio DSP and spdif mixer, a battery powered hygrometer, a loudspeaker amplifier, and the list goes on  :D.

Based on the eevblog, i picked up a Rigol scope about a year ago and, looking back, there is no way i could do my projects without it.  I figure it's about time i log on and check out what's going on here in the forums.

Edit: forgot to add - Hello from Canada!

Hello everybody,
my name is andy - locally called 'jedrek' which stands for 'andy' (using suffix 'g' instead of 'k' to avoid taken nicks on forums); I live in Poland/EU working as software consultant traveling through central and eastern europe. My EE dusty/forgotten skills based on secondary edutation were not used for many years but recently I re-started this activity as hobby. I found this excellent forum as goldmine looking for detailed info on Rigol DSO which I am going to buy.

cheers,
-andy.
