no new back to the future
« on: June 30, 2015, 12:02:00 am »
"Robert Zemeckis, who directed the film and its two sequels, has vowed that Back to the Future will never be remade in his lifetime – and hopes that his estate will figure out a way to continue blocking remakes after his death."

You can't improve on perfection. I'm quite happy to leave it at the 3 we have.

Yep, me too.
Unlike many other 80's movies I love, I don't see a compelling reason to reboot BTTF.

There's lots of awesome BTTF movie ideas that *could* be attempted, but you just know if anyone actually tried it would be awful.
Maybe if the new starwars movie turns out to be awesome i might have a little faith that JJ Abrams could do something with BTTF that wouldnt suck. He did a good job with star trek imho

But i don't subscribe to the fact that remaking something somehow ruins the original, no matter how terrible the remake is.

It's better if you wear sunglasses while watching.

(Totally Off Topic, or is it?)

Or wearing sunglasses while hitting another car with your DeLorean...  :palm:

Go watch Terminator, I heard they are going to the past, future and back enough to make your head spin.

That sounds more like a Saturday morning animated series than a movie.

I agree. The shimmering light effect get's irritating real quick. But the new Star Trek movies are good because they are new stories. Not a rehash of an old movie like Total Recall.

They are cool, but they are just another reboot. I'll admit more like a comic book reboot, but because of that they owe a lot more to the originals and have much more service to the fans of old than things like the reboot of Total Recall. If anything Star Trek succeeded where Total Recall failed by sticking closer to the originals.
