Also, it sounds like the update to their site is going to be substantial and pretty impressive compared to today's version. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it (though I'll probably have to buy my scope before the update is live).

I was going to buy from amazon and it was there 839 + 14 usd of shipping.... I cant say how much i loved to have total saved 64 USD !

It really is hard to beat Tequipments price with the discount *for US customers*. They get a bad rep from foreign customers, and I have no opinion on that since I live in the US. But I have always gotten things quickly at the lowest price I could find from them (not used, of course).
Evan seems to be a nice guy on the forum but my experience with them seems to concur *for US customers* only. I agree that Tequipment has very good prices. but the fraud protection policies really anger people.
I'm outside the USA and my first purchase experience from Tequipment was extremely bad. What happened back then was that, i even went to the live chat plus writing email to Tequipment to explain things, but they still treated me a thief. I did however manage to get some of the gears i wanted in the end, but lost the chance for a few sale items.
Their website is making me tear my hair out.check it out now.. discontinued are filtered out and you can go by dept now.. check out oscilloscopes
They want you to shop by brand, ok, but then show a lot of product, then click the pricing link and like 100 things have been discontinued. Ok take it of your site then!
I guess I'm partial to the sortable list, sort by brand / price / etc.
Everything I've looked at so far has been discontinued. I'm getting tired of wasting my time. |O Can they at least put "Discontinued" on the page where it shows you the models instead of you clicking the link, reading the specs, scrolling down and seeing it at the bottom. GRRRR! :rant:

It is because those companies have dealer agreements with the dealers in other countries and tequipment is not allowed to ship outside of its dealer territory. This is to protect the dealers in the other countries from competition so that they will carry those makes/brands.

My apologies for butting-in without having read the entire thread.
I have a simple observation, and I'm curious about the OP's opinions of it...
If you give a special deal to a subset of your customers (say EEVBlog readers), then you are giving an unnecessarily poor deal to all other customers. The exceptions would be if you are losing money on the special deal, or if the costs of dealing with the subset were lower than dealing with the other customers.
The usual manifestation I see of this, typically with large companies, is that their special deal prices are no better than ordinary retailers' prices (and can be worse).
As I said, opinions welcome.
I have 100 units coming in this week. Within 5 days. Most are sold but we still have a few left. I have another 100 coming in 4 weeks then more after that. This is all from my 1st order in August. We cant get them fast enough.

I do think that something like that is reasonable, so I'm not going to be too bothered if it doesn't work out for me. I have found this forum (and main eevblog site) very educational as just a reader for some time, so rewarding the people who contribute to the forum is a worthy goal. Just was in an online chat with Peter at Telequipment.net. Ordered a Rigol 3058E. I did not receive a eevblog discount on the purchase, he is the sales manager not a customer service rep so apparently did not know how to apply the member discount. They apparently do not accept PayPal Credit either. I like purchasing using the PayPal Credit as it costs nothing for interest if the purchase price is enough, work on PayPal's money not mine. So the PayPal payment went through, not that is a terrible thing just was not the way I figured on making the purchase.Perhaps you should contact Evan Cirelli (userID is tequipment (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/special-price-for-eevblog-members/)), and relate what happened. As he's a co-owner, I suspect he'd like to know what happened, and would be willing to do what he can within reason to make things right for you (verify if PayPal Credit is indeed unusable as a payment source, and *perhaps* be able to refund the discount amount back to the payment source you used).
So just be careful when ordering if you want to take advantage of their discount offer. I suspect I should have chatted with a customer service rep who understood the discount from them better.
I live about 150 Miles north of Beaverton, OR so if the meter needs their assistance it will not be far to ship it off.

It is because those companies have dealer agreements with the dealers in other countries and tequipment is not allowed to ship outside of its dealer territory. This is to protect the dealers in the other countries from competition so that they will carry those makes/brands.

Apparently the West Coast dock worker slow down is hurting them. I can attest to that as I am in Seattle looking out the office window at the Port of Seattle and see many ships full of containers just anchored out in the sound, many have been there for a week or so. Dang! yesterday they had 5 of the DS1054Z in stock, now they're out and shipment is 3-4 weeks away.At least it's not like before, where every single DS1054Z they'd have come in was spoken for before they ever received them. :o At least now if you're quick enough, you can get a unit without having to wait for the next shipment (one in your hands in days rather than ~ a month). ;)

Well, you didn't have to request the code, in fact it's not needed, and I don't know why this thread exists. All you have to do is use the tequipment chat and ask for the eevblog discount. They will give you the code or send a discounted quote.

Also, the process of disseminating the code is done purely by volunteers, not paid staff or a bot.
Sorry you feel slighted because you didn't get immediate gratification, but the spirit of DIY involves a healthy dose of self-reliance (i.e. learn to do for yourself by searching first), and if you hit a wall, be patient for those that can help to do so. The members are a helpful bunch, but they'll be far less likely to do so if you demand they do so (i.e. behave as if it's owed to you).
I agree with what you said but it was just how the words were put together when the 15 year old (according to his/her profile) PM'ed me. Of my 14 years working professional as an embedded firmware engineer, no one had said that to me before. From what I see on there website, it-s not worth to buy from them.You might want to compare Batronix to Batterfly in Italy, as they're selling the DS1054Z (http://www.batterfly.com/shop/rigol-ds1054z?filter_name=ds1054z) for 327.95EUR + free shipping to Europe + VAT. So w/ a VAT rate of 23%, the total would be 403.38EUR. :-+
Shipping for an 1054z is $69 according to them, Import tax is 0%, but VAT is 23%.
So the $399 + $69 = $468, now the $468 + $108 (23% VAT) = $576.
If the cupon is -6%, $576 - $34.55 ( -6% ) = $542 = 542€ at today currency

It doesn't expire, but given TEquipment is located in the US, I'm not sure it's the lowest cost source in your case (not sure of the shipping costs from the US to Israel, or what sort of customs duties you may incur).

I've debated quite a bit about posting this, as i don't want to cause any issues with TEquipment doing something nice for the members.You not receiving the code had nothing to do with being human or not, but rather insufficient participation. As per reading, listening, ... you don't have to create an account for that. ::)

Is the EEVblog code discount any different from the EDU discount? I have the EDU discount since I'm back to taking classes in school, just wasn't sure if one was better than the other.I'm not sure if it will work with EDU prices, but I've got EEVBlog discount on top of another discount which was already applied to the original price.
Also, TEquipment doesn't allow this discount code to be combined with other discount codes like education or military discounts. I'm not sure of the military discount (suspect 5%, but unconfirmed), but education is 5% and EEVBlog is 6%, so it's worth putting in a little bit of effort to get it.

Since Rigol's oscilloscopes can be unlocked, I'd suggest getting a DS1054Z and a separate signal generator. Depending on what you want/need, Siglent's SDG2042X (https://www.saelig.com/product/sdg2042x.htm) offers a lot of value (also unlockable for a higher BW IIRC, so search the forum on this). Saelig also offers a 6% discount for EEVBlog members as well if you're interested in Siglent gear or other stuff they carry, incl. Rigol.
Also, you'll want to check to see if importing stuff from the US to Brazil will be cost effective (I've sent stuff there and it's not cheap).

I won't be able to buy both at this price now, but I'll probably go with the DS1054Z and buy a generator later.Regarding a signal generator, you could always start with something really inexpensive (there's some stuff on eBay for under $10) if it will get you going on experiments. If it's not an absolute necessity, then you can take your time and shop around (SDG-2042X was just a suggestion as I don't know exactly what you need).
Yes, importing to Brazil is very expensive. TEquipment offers dealing with the import duties and for a DS1054Z the shipping plus duties are around $550, which happens to be below or around the price I would pay buying here.
That said, someone from my family is going to the US and is willing to bring it, so I won't have to pay these duties.

Good morning was just about to order the Siglent sds1202x-e had second thoughts now seriously considering the Rigol. I Have the Rigol DS1054z added to my Tequipment cart over at Amazon.. as well as the Siglent from some other vendor comparing final prices and there's not much of a price difference.
If the coupon code is still available I'll go with the Rigol, Hard choice between the two.
