4 people already took a distributor pack @ $900!
I'm pretty sure if you get 2 of those it also comes with a set of tinfoil hats too.  :p

I don't understand. If this sleeve blocks EMR, then wouldn't the laptop's wireless systems be compromised as well?

Referencing unidentified research it says:
Quote
Recent research suggests that any EMF exposure above 3 milliGauss may be linked to diseases such as:...

Hmm, quick sanity check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss_(unit)
Quote
0.31–0.58 gauss – the Earth's magnetic field at its surface

ZOMG!!!!! The Earth causes cancer!!  :-DD

Silly, you misunderstood the purpose of the product. It is not about a well reasoned attempt to make the world better through the application of well understood principles at the nexus of medicine/biology/physics/engineering.

It is about FEARMONGERING in a friendly, clean, and fashionable package.

Anyone want to start an Indiegogo fund to pay this guy never to use the word "paradoxically" again? I've got $500 - who's with me?

Oh this is hilarious  :-DD
I mean, it would make a little tiny bit of sense if these people actually knew a little bit of physics, but... Oh god.
Death, taxes and diode losses.

On the positive side of things, I think they have a really good chance of delivering their product on time. I mean, it's just a leather laptop sleeve.

Okay but presume that this thing "actually worked" though its intentions I'm still not sure of, wouldn't a so called radiation blocker limit the laptops wireless capabilities?

What would they even put in there? A sheet of lead?

No - they specifically say it's not lead

Mu metal perhaps

The screen seems to be intended to go under the laptop - presumably the dangerous radiation only goes down  :-DD

If they truly want to shield the laptop, they must also shield the LCD. In fact, as far as EMI goes, that is one of the largest sources of it. Ever thought about the pixel clock of a modern LCD? 1280 cols x 800 rows x 3 subpixels x 60 frames/sec = 184 MHz. Each data driver (at the top or bottom of the LCD) has to handle that and there are 3,840 of them.

Yeah, but then you wouldn't be able to flog a product that "worked"  :palm:
So best not to mention pesky details like that!

Classic snake oil product that takes a few basic scientific ideas, a few measurements, and extrapolates a supposed needed solution.  :palm:
Throw in the obligatory fear mongering, happy photo of the family, and some quotes from dodgy doctors http://www.emfandhealth.com/Samuel%20Milham.html
And it's a perfectly executed useless product campaign, well done!
I won't use the word scam, because:
a) these people usually really do passionately believe this stuff
b) I think they'll actually deliver a reasonable quality product, and intend to.
c) The measurements are likely real (but they don't actually show what they claim of course, but minor detail  :palm:)

So this one wins the classic snake oil award of the week  :-+

I haven't fathered any children yet :) I  think I'll wrap "the boys" in al-foil when I use the laptop. I mean, radiation only goes down, right?  ::)

Because light is EM radiation.
