EBay rules state it does not sell illegal items but using one of these devices without a specific radio licence is an offence under the Wireless Telegraphy Act.

More bollocks - they use unlicensed spectrum.

I'm not sure that being an unlicensed spectrum classifies the transmission as 'for general reception'... however, just because you can receive a transmission, does not mean you will.

This just in: Ears are illegal because you could use them to listen to a private conversation.
