It doesn't look that bad in my opinion. When searching on Ebay, I sometimes come across items like this (and sometimes worse). I wonder if that seller gets some equipment from buildings that have sustained bomb damage (especially the items with severe mechanical damage). And I always love the 'AS-IS, unable to test' comments for severely damaged equipment.

Always try to avoid items like this, you're never sure were they have been.
Machines were mice and Men were lions once upon a time, but now that it's the opposite it's twice upon a time.

"This item is used and we unable to do test"
translated to: we tested it but... (1) we dont know how to fix it, (2) no spare part available for replacement, (3) this item is heavily damaged beyond repair.

(4) We used it as a parts donor to repair another item.
(5) A lot of smoke came out of it when we turned it on, so we didn't bother testing.
(6) It is so dirty/contaminated, no one here dared to touch it.

That would have been described as 'power on tested', although the result of the test might have been omitted.

I wonder what fell on this one.

Apparently it does not power up. Would replacing the fuse be sufficient to return it to working condition? ;)

Oh dear. It looks like more than one thing has happened to that poor thing. My random guess is the poor thing was vandalized.

Notice the damage on the BNC connectors? Either they have been rotated after the damage, or something else has happened to them. Or the deep cuts at the upper right of the remains of the bezel. They look as if they were cut upwards, not downwards.

And i wounder what ever happened to that Fluke 8846A.. earthquake??

And over $500 including shipping... Maybe it is just money laundering.  I love the idea of opening up a banged up fluke and finding a bunch of $100 bills :)

I knew you had to be talking about the seller from Israel before I even clicked it, they are rough on stuff over there.

Either it decided to commit suicide by jumping off somewhere very, very high, or it was used as a shield and took a base ball bat head on. Damn
