Translator needed
« on: December 20, 2011, 01:25:41 pm »
Anyone able to translate the meaning of the dip switch settings from this 983A dispensing controller?  I have the basic operating modes available but it seems there are a lot more settings.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;D

Due the fact that some people snob anything with Asian origin, we do not have many Asian members around.

Even so I have a practical solution.

You will need to buy the ABBYY FineReader OCR software.
This is capable to extract the text at the Microsoft word, and then you can use the Google translate function, so to get some results.

Personally I have go even further, with the CorelDraw X3 I can recreate the manual translated in the new language.
All the above needs money , time and patience.
If you have them , move ahead.

Bloch,

Thanks, I didnt think of using google to translate.  I think if I sit down and try each setting and see what they do it may make some sense.

I use docs.google.com Import picture to make the OCR

"not sure why but the forum dont like Chinese "text"

Then copy to txt to

http://translate.google.com/

F1 Ankle ankle live switch, constant continuous spit; release to stop spit.

Good luck

that's your version of it, infact it is more like: just because everyone does not agree with me that everything made in china is the best ever and we should only buy from china. So you turn it on it's head. You are the one with the extreme view !

It's in Chinese, and here's the translation:

F1: engage foot switch, spits out continuously. Release switch to stop.
F2: step on foot switch once, spits out according to the preset duration. step on foot switch again to stop.
F3: engage foot switch, spits out continuously according to the preset duration. step on foot switch again to stop.
F4: automatically spit out according to timer settings.
F5: step on foot switch once, spit out one time according to the preset time.
F6: step on foot switch once, spit out twice according to the preset time.
F7-F16: (same as F6, but 3 - 12 times)

Hopefully it helps :-)

AlphZeta,

Thanks a lot, that makes sense with how it behaves.  When I tried random settings I got some of these multiple shot settings.

Thanks for posting the translation. I just got a "Spersder" PE-986A from a stand in Shenzhen China, had no idea how to deal with the DIP switches. Seems exactly the same as the 983 except less googlable :)
