Greetings EEVBees:

--Turns out all those wacky boffins with telescopes have been having us on, and that the universe as we know it according to people like Sagan and Hawking is just complete rot. Its is all really just about electromagnetism with gravity having almost no part in it at all. Wal Thornhill is to lecture at Engineering House to straighten all of this out. See below link.

--Your comments are solicited, but if you are an engineer, best do so quietly, this body decides whether or not you can call yourself and engineer, even if you do wear a funny hat and drive a train. Richard Feynman a former Cornell professor was always uncomfortable with prestigious organizations whose only purpose was to decide who was good enough to belong. So, when the National Academy of Sciences decided that the beloved Cornell Professor Carl Sagan 1934 -1996, was insufficiently qualified for membership, Feynman began resigning from all bodies of this type.

According to Wiki:
He is also the 1994 recipient of the Public Welfare Medal, the highest award of the National Academy of Sciences for "distinguished contributions in the application of science to the public welfare."[14] He was denied membership in the Academy, reportedly because his media activities made him unpopular with many other scientists.[15]
