Went for a walk and took some photos :)
« on: March 30, 2017, 02:07:18 am »
Figured I would share this, normally my photos are nothing special but for once one came out decent :).

This is on the South Lawson Waterfall Circuit, Blue Mountains, not sure which waterfall it was Junction Falls.

Formatted for a 1920x1200 background :)

Edit: Found this guy while we were there too, the large amounts of rainfall has washed them all down stream and out of hiding.

Great Photo.. Thanks...

Your local fresh water crustacean is certainly bigger and looks meaner / sleeker then ours in North 'Merica...

Have a great day

I like the crab, very crisp image, and the long exposure of the falls looks good. What camera do you use?

I have a Canon EOS 6D and when I'm not too lazy to carry it, sometimes I take nice photos with it. Attached are two from a visit to the Cologne zoo from some time ago, where I tested my telephoto lens.

Nice pics, I wish I had an EOS, I am using an old Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 I bought years ago just before I went to Europe. I had to really fudge the settings in the damn thing to get it to do a long exposure, wish it could have been slightly longer to be honest. This thing took a drink at a party and I only just bothered to return it to service.

Thanks. They have an "ape rock" in Cologne zoo, I guess they really like it there: http://www.ksta.de/koeln/nippes/--2390018 And they are not behind bars, good for photographers.

These days modern cameras gets better and better, usually I use just my iPhone 6. But in low light, or if you need a perfect lense with no visible aberrations, and low noise etc., a professional camera is really worth the money.

But my iPhone can even record reasonable good videos. This is 50 km south of Cologne:

But dynamic range is bad and as you can see at the end, it is terrible in low light. This was with the highest brightness setting, I could see much more with the flashlight even at darker settings.

Gnif's photos were taken just outside the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area.  Cyclone Debbie crossed the Australian coast more than 1500km to the north of Sydney.  It is now a tropical low, but it is a huge rain system, dumping lots of water all the way down the coast - even as far as Sydney.  Many places in between are suffering from flooding - and there have been evacuations ordered.

No sharknados though.

That is one nice little waterfall. Here in Oregon, Near Portland, we have some small waterfalls like that too. One is called Bridal Veil. Kinda looks like a Bridal Veil too that a woman would wear on her wedding. Really pretty. It's near Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge.  Very nice photo, good job.

A couple weekends ago, when we were lucky enough to have some sun, I took this one with my phone in Panoramic view when we were at the Oregon Coast, near Tillamook, Oregon.

This is for 5960x1080 screens, like what I have. 3 Monitors. Looks really good. There is one bad part in the panoramic, but screens one and two split right down it, you can't see it. If you'd like a larger File (I have it like 4 times the size, 10058x1822), then let me know. I had to shrink this down to 3017x547 pixel size because of the 1mb limit postings.  The bigger file is huge, but it is also the same aspect ration as the 5960x1080, perfect for triple monitor screens.

It's amazing how beautiful Planet Earth really is, from small little waterfalls, like the OP's picture, to gigantic coast lines.
