What are these called?
« on: July 26, 2016, 01:43:33 pm »
See pic. Darnit, I thought these were called cotter pins, but ebay and Wiki use the term cotter pin to describe what I've always called split pins.

I need the right word, to find some longer ones of these online. Split pins won't do. Has to be these, which are springy hard steel that you press into a slightly under size hole.
This is for securing the head of a medium size sledge hammer.

Ah ha. The magic google word. Tension pin,  spring, roll or C pins. Thanks.

Edit: This is for that rock removal project I mentioned in https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/what-did-you-buy-today-post-your-latest-purchase!/msg929403/#msg929403
It's going well, faster than I expected.
First pic is original rocks; red line all that's left now. (A bit after the last pic below.)
Two or three more trips, and then I'll have the job of moving all the rubble. Whoopee.
