Gee.  All the complexity of a submarine and a quad copter in one compact package.

Actually a pretty neat accomplishment, but not obvious what application makes this beneficial.

Yes, the obvious benefit is a grant.

Drones are trendy, so that must be good investment.

It would be interesting to see how it transitions from water and back to air when there is any kind of wave action.

Pretty cool.  My first drone was also able to go underwater but it wasn't so good at getting back out, or swimming, after that.

Interesting concept... although it's evident that it doesn't move as well when submerged in the water compared to up in the sky. My question is how deep in the water it can go (like for underwater photography).

Just needs some way of automatically finding & landing in water, for those occasions when it overheats.  :-DD

Some folks who wear uniforms may find it interesting.

At the risk of appearing 'too silly to blog';   I'm immediately thinking of HOLLYWOOD production...:   Die Hard XXIV.  2024.

The drone drawing machine gun fire, whilest Bruce grabs inflatable raft, and just mps off some object (50 meters down to water).

Everything goes quiet, for a second, THEN drone emerges from water, next to bad guys boat, Bruce coming in for the 'Kill- Snark'.
(Meaning some related pun, to insult the criminals, while they get blowed up.
