Where Do Forum Questions Go?
« on: April 26, 2018, 04:14:28 pm »
I mean questions about the forums and configuring things?

I'm looking to change the time display to my time zone (so that I don't have to think).  I've been through my profile a few times and just don't see anything.

On the row of elements at the top of any forum page, click the "Profile" button.

On the resulting page, hover your mouse over the "Modify Profile" button and click "Look and Layout" on the drop menu.

In the resulting page, change the "Time Offset" field manually or by using the (auto detect) button.

Click the "Change Profile" button at the lower right corner of the page.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that does it.  Thanks!

I thought I had searched everywhere for that.

You'll have to update it every time Daylight Saving/Summer time changes, both your version of it, and the forum's version of it.

And, yes, some the forum's UI design is user hostile.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

I have found (the hard way) that this is the key to finding options that don't seem to be visible in your Profile:
hover your mouse over ...

I've put mine in "EEVblog Electronics Community Forum » EEVblog » EEVblog Specific" because it says "Chat relating to specific EEVblog episodes or content." and I interpreted this as: this forum is basically content of the eevblog conglomerate.
I didn't get scolded, so I guess I was right!?!?

Nah, sorry. That forum is really meant to discuss the EEVblog proper (i.e. Dave's videos). We are just such a nice bunch here, we don't do scolding under any circumstances.  8)

Hehe ok :)
I asked to move it if it isn't correct, so I assumed it was correct. :P
