Newegg deliberately cripples parametric search

Apparently, Newegg has made the executive decision to deliberately cripple its parametric search.

A few experiments:
1.) search desktop memory for DDR3 1866 and/or CL rating
2.) search motherboard by form factor, e.g. uATX, mITX
3.) search power supplies by 80PLUS certification

In summary, all of these options (and surely a bunch more) have been completely removed from parametric search. Absolutely worthless.

O...M...F...G. Clearly some "brilliant" marketing strategy at play here. Nothing to distinguish Newegg from competitors like Amazon anymore...I'm anticipating significant losses in Q4 and hope they choke on their incessant blasphemy.

I always confused Amazon and Newegg's parametric searches. Newegg was the way I wish Amazon's was, but at least Amazon and TigerDirect let you filter by socket type.

It does seem really stupid, but how do you know it was deliberate, and not just a screwup?

Newegg has been busy driving themselves into the ground for the past 2 years. They're ass-deep in the "marketplace" nonsense that Amazon has been doing for 5 years or more, where you can't even tell what company you're buying things from and every search is littered with garbage. RIP.

I've noticed there is this current trend in UI of "simplification" and "reducing clutter",  better known as "removing useful features" and "hiding things where it's difficult to find them"

Newegg has been going downhill for a while. I try and avoid them, especially now that they hit me with restocking fees for everything I return, regardless of condition. Their restocking guys must be driving Ferraris...

I avoid searching from newegg directly. I use http://pcpartpicker.com/. Their search is usually great and it tells where to buy it the cheapest. It'll even find combo deals as well.
