YouTube Send & receive private messages

Been seeing this for a while now.  I wonder what they plan to focus on.  More annoying pop-ups perhaps that never go away?   Maybe they will start asking me to use Chrome again in more clever ways.

As of July 9, 2018, you will no longer be able to send, receive, or read private messages in Creator Studio. We’re making this change because this feature was not widely used, and will allow us to focus on the features and tools that matter most to you. All private messages will be deleted and disappear from Creator Studio on July 9, 2018.

Probably GDPR related. You may find the PMs were not very private (easy accessed by their staff etc) and the easiest option is to do away with the feature.
