changing the name of a library symbol
« on: May 29, 2017, 09:12:58 pm »
I have noticed that there does not seem to be an option for changing the name of a schematic symbol created in a library once created.

Also, bearing in mind I want to link supplier information to the symbols, is it wise to link multiple footprints or will I just end up with supplier numbers not matching footprints ?

You can change the name.
Open the .SchLib file.
In SCH Library view double click the component name to open Library Component Properties window. Change name in the Library Link Symbol Reference field.
