Couple of usage questions
« on: April 16, 2017, 02:03:03 am »
Hi,

Two questions I hope someone can answer,

1) Is there a way to set the default project folder path? When ever I open or save a project, it goes to the default C:\public.... location. I Put my files somewhere else and want it to use that location by default. Haven't found where to do it yet.

2) Is there an easy way to highlight a net in the PCB editor and give it a color? So far all I've stumbled on to is going to the PCB tab of what ever the window is called that has Projects/PCB/PCB Filter, listing all the nets, then I notice when I click on a net, it gets highlighted in that window, I can click it's checkbox, right click on it to select a color and it's done...... Gotta be an easier way.

OK, one more than a couple questions,

3) Is there a way to make the color I selected for a net solid instead of stippled?

Thanks

Joel

Go to "View" -> "PCB". Inside the now opened "PCB" Tab -> select in dropdown menu "Nets" -> select display "All Nets"
Select in PCB-Editor with your mouse the net you want to color -> right mouse click for "Change Net Color" -> Select new color.
Right mouse click for "Display Override" -> "Selected on"

The default project path: right click on your projekt -> Options -> goto tab "Options" -> adjust your path an select the option "use separate folder for each output type" .

Cheers
hammy

Sorry it took so long for me to try this, for the nets, in the end, this is the same as what I found.

What would be good is a highlight action, maybe a filter for traces, vias, shapes..., select the color, then any net I click on is that color, change color, click on more nets. As it is, it's usable, just could be easier.

As far as default directories, I'm talking about before any projects are loaded. So that any new projects or any projects I open go to say H:\CS\projects as the starting point by default.

It's like all these programs there are short comings that are annoying. Sometimes it's there, just need to find it, sometimes just live with it.

Thanks

Joel
