Creation custom pad in Circuit Studio
« on: September 16, 2017, 12:04:25 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I am thinking use Circuit Studio. Now, I am trying. But I have a question.  I wanna create a custom pad like the picture. It will not be covered polygon. How can I make this pad drawing as step by step in Circuit Studio ?

Thank you so much, good works.

I think that true PADs only have the small set of shapes and parameters which are seen in the dialog window when you start to place a pad.  I don't think there are any other options.

You can use polygons and cutouts and so on to create more custom more complex shapes and attach pads to those polygon / region areas so that they able to be connected to whatever the pad is connected to in terms of net / symbol / footprint.

I am sorry that this is such a limitation since it would be nice to be able to define true "pads" as arbitrary shapes.

I understand. I thought that when Altium created it from solid region, circuit studio had the same feature. But it's best to do it right now.

Thank you so much for reply. Good works.
