Define PCB Shape from 3D model
« on: August 19, 2018, 01:35:37 pm »
Is it possible to define the PCB shape from a 3D model?

I did some googling and found that they removed this feature in 1.3, but no one defined how to perform the actions in the later version.

I am demoing 1.5, and so far it's close to AD17 but seems a little... weak still.....

Download and install version 1.3 and you can define your board with a STEP file.

It's the version I use because of this feature which has been removed in later versions for some mysterious reason which hasn't been addressed by Altium or Element 14 despite multiple questions.

You don't lose anything useful with V1.3 vs 1.4 or 1.5.
