moving multiple pads in a PCB library footprint

I am making one part from another as they are near identical but have been moving pads around. Now you would think that to move more than one pad at a time you simply select the ones you want to move and well move them. But apparently not. I cannot find any way to simultaneously move a number of items in a PCB footprint. Is this really the case ?

Select multiple pads, press M and you will get a crosshair, now left click drag all selected together.

Thinking about this, I think I mentioned to Altium way way back that the MOVE & DRAG defaults as well as the operation needed a bit of work. Coming from Eagle it was all too easy just to select a bunch of parts including traces and simply move them around and have the connected traces rubber band maintaining connectivity.......but this isn't the case so easily with CS.

Yes CS does have some pretty weird things.
