Harold S Black / Negative Feedback Day - August 2

August 2nd, will be the 90th anniversary of the concept of negative feedback in amplification.  Harold S Black invented the concept that day while crossing the Hudson river on a ferry, writing his idea down on a blank section of the daily newspaper.  His new amplifier resulted in a 100,000:1 reduction of distortion, and made quality, long-distance telephony possible.

We ought to do something to celebrate.
