Too bad my posts from other forums don't transfer over or I'd probably break the post counter.

It seems this contest is appealing to new members. At least for now.

ANyway, I removed my entry (for fear of taxes).
IMHO it would help if Dave took it slightly apart. That way it can be shipped as 'for parts' with no value. OTOH some assembly will be required for the winner.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I'd make a video but it would just be about wanting to hack it, there is probably someone out there that has a better/real use for it.

Dav(e|id),

I have a few questions...

  • Can you give some more info on the logistics of this giveaway?
  • Will the winner be announced publicly?
  • How will the winner be notified?

Nice to see some quality submissions...  I really like...

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/contests/giveaway-rohde-schwarz-rtb2004-oscilloscope/msg1246945/#msg1246945

it's a shame the ink had run out otherwise the waveform print would have been awesome.  The way the amplitude changes in realtime is great.

I'm hoping the uBeam and Solar Roadways entries will come in at some point.

I think what's funniest so far is the number of people who's number of posts in the forum is 1.

I noticed this also.  How did they find this?   I wonder if they search everyday on "giveaway"?

The strange of most submissions is that they show some other scope in use.

Nothing inherently wrong with having another scope. The main point it show that you can make good use of a higher end scope.

Sad as it is, I can not participate due to same reason. Would need to pay about 40% of its price here. If I could afford that, I could probably buy a whole new unit.

Good luck to the winner  :-+

FWIW, ask Dave if he'd consider to sign/autograph it,

it may be worth big dollars in 20 years time as an "Authentic ex-EEVblog vintage DSO"

Would NZ customs still charge a great tax/GST/import fee even if Australia is its neighboring/sister country? ???

Of course they would, they don't miss a chance to dig into your pockets, its not just the GST, it all the extra "fees" they add on too ! often ends up being as much as the GST component!

Well alright then, I wont bother to join the competition because I don't have that much money to pay to NZ customs as I'm still a hobbyist (soon to be an EE).
