$5,500 kickstarter to pay for "prototype #2".
Backers of the kickstarter will get a completed unit when production is complete...somehow.
They need a minimum production run of 5,000 units. At $150 a unit that is $750,000 (CAD) required before the production can begin.
I'm not sure this guy understands how KS is meant to work. :palm:
And the videos, oh the videos... :-DD
Oh, and this guy tried and failed before: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tissuetablet/the-tissue-tablet-sanitize-luxurize-technologize (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tissuetablet/the-tissue-tablet-sanitize-luxurize-technologize)

I was expecting to see human tissue... :P :P :P
Alexander.

Nothing new or exciting about this product.
We have them installed here at work.
Just google "automatic toilet tissue dispenser".
Of the hundreds of designs there are plenty of 'powered' units with various types of sensors.
I don't think that guy is going to get anywhere with that KS.

:-DD
That might very well be the worst intro to a product I've ever seen.

At least he isn't trying to charge batteries in 30 seconds. :palm:
I see many automatic dispensers for towel dispensers for drying your hands.
But I've never seen one for toilet tissue before.
I thought it would be amusing to shoot a short movie of a zombie going into a modern restroom where none of the IR-sensor automation will detect his presence.
No TP from this automated dispenser. No flush from the toilet. No water from the automatic tap, no soap from the automated dispenser, and no towels from the machine. But then maybe zombies don't use the restroom?

Last time I checked, the outer layer is what comes off the roll first. If you're that paranoid, pull off the first few turns...

Everyone should know, when it comes to toilet paraphernalia, don't mess with the Japanese.

The claims just read like a Chinese Wun Hung Lo advertisement
Thinking abit more, Esmonde also came to the conclusion that the current bathroom tissue holder is not, sanitized, luxurized, or even up to date with technology. He then designed the Tissue Tablet (and kleenex version in progress) to sanitize, luxurize, and technologize everyones home/business
Thinking about the present health aware, and conscientious modern society, he felt outstanding at the thought of people all over the world stepping up and eliminating the most germ covered area in their homes (the bathroom tissue holder with approx. 344 germs per square inch).
Technologize - Use todays electronics, sensors, and apps to help you have a happier day. We believe you should have more ease with todays technology to assist you in the washroom.
Damn right I need to sanitize, luxurize, and technologize my washroom! :palm:

Most germ covered area in the average home is the kitchen sponge......... Followed by the chopping board.
-
While it is a good idea, I also see it is late. There are already many of these on the market, as others have proven.
I could see Elaine (from Seinfeld) yelling at the dispenser...'Give me one more square! Just one more!' (for those who have seen this episode, you'll know what I mean).
I see this Kickstarter project going to sh&t.....again.

Followed by the chopping board.
Depends on the board, doesn't it? A decent wooden board, never soaked in water but given a quick scrub between tasks, is a killer for germs AIUI. Seems to work for ours, anyway.

And at the office, the coffee pot handle

I still do not know about them.
Bidets are rare here, unless you are in a Muslim owned shop, where you will have hot and cold water available in the toilet, along with a small basin within reach of your left hand. Otherwise you will have a cleaned beaker outside to use for washing.

Through the wonders of modern cinema technology, one need simply stand before a green screen yet appear to be ... standing in front of a green screen, trapped in a little box surrounded by unused black space.

What I find interesting is the bio:
Esmonde Holowaty is the inventor of the Tissue Tablet (USPTO 8,763,948). He is also an engineer, author of 2 books, life coach, and entrepreneur.
His previous KS campaign was for... wait for it...

4 backers. $22.00 raised.
This round is bound to be better

It may be a product looking for a problem to solve. But t least the guy built a working prototype, unlike oh so many other campaigns.

Though not that unique really. We already have paper towel dispensers that do the same thing really.
-
He cant raise 5000$ for a prototype, but wrote a book on becoming a billionaire? :-DD

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.
Just have to watch out for my neighbour, who is a science teacher. She might slap me silly.

I dont get it.. I must be missing the point some how. At least where I live I would very much doubt a product like that would ever sell.
Why would you need a automated toilet paper dispenser to start with? you use the paper to whipe your arse when you are done with your business anyways. ???
I'm a big fan of automated soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, sanitizer alcohol, water faucets and all that so of stuff in public bathrooms as not everyone is washing their hands after they are done.
But a toilet paper dispenser??

If you have a teenager who thinks that a roll of toilet paper is supposed to be the amount used at one sitting, an automated way to limit consumption starts to have appeal. ;)

Reminds me when Mr. Bean was trying to pack his clothes in a tiny suitcase, he ended up packing only one pair of underwear but put in a bar of soap.
