Serval Mobile Mesh Extender
« on: July 08, 2013, 12:41:38 am »

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/speak-freely

A mesh extender for mobile phones, for use in remote areas and in developing countries. They're also pushing the disaster angle of the project, for complementing cellular networks. Of those uses, I think the most promising use is for local communication in developing countries. Even so, that would require a community investment, (the Mesh Extender) as well as an individual investment (a smart phone). I'm not sure how feasible this actually is. (As in, I actually don't know. Comments are welcome.)
Whoa! How the hell did Dave know that Bob is my uncle? Amazing!
