Am I missing something or is this wirebender WAY too expensive?

Came across this on kickstarter. It's cool and I can think of a lot of cool things to do with it. But over $3000 cool? I don't know.

Looks like you get the actual bender thingy if you pledge $2,500, $2,750, $2,950, or $3,200. The irregularity of the intervals bothers me a bit... but if you pledge $3,750 you also get "Wire, Clips & Cutters." So, basically I can pay an extra $1,250 for what I hope are the best wire cutters in the frickin' universe.

Who needs to do this so much that it's worth the incredible cost of automation? A ruler, a protractor and a vise to give a clean bending point ought to be all you need! Or am I missing something? :-//

Very neat machine. I would be willing to pay $299.

But, but, but ... Make Magazine said it is the next step in DIY desktop CNC. A must have. To be placed right next to your 3D printer. So they can equally collect dust.

For that price I would expect it to be able to bend upto 1" metal conduit and replace the "hockey stick"
