Unless you live in a fishbowl ( like their smoke demo) how is this going to have any effect on any useful air volume?

Indiegogo BS-Check:
- ultra long battery life - check
- to small to believe - check
- flexible founding - check
- having no clue about how their device works or should work - check

What's with the bad overdubbing on the video?
I have no doubt it probably works in principle, scientifically. As usual though, the problem with these IndieGogo campaigns is the MAGNITUDE of the effect. I'd like to know how much air it can have an effect on, how you can measure particulate concentration and how fast it works, as compared to say some small portable HEPA filtration fan or one of those Ionic Breeze units.
If it had a fan and actively blew the air through it, I would be more confident. So far all the demonstration videos show it working in a tiny sealed jar and it actually took a while. At almost $100 for one of these, that's quite a bit of money to spend.
You can buy one of these from eBay and see how it compares inside, for $0.99 each:

Not only the magnitude, but also the effect itself. If you'd really ionize enough air to effectively break down organic particles in half a meter radius, then you're also generating a lot of Ozone and NOx. Nothing you want for good air quality.
