Personal USA made LED chip with Silicon Quantum Dots Technology. 10W chip on board. This is the only Silicon Quantum Dots, USA made LED chip in the market

10W is nice but more would be better. I'm curious to see more rewards, 200*$100 would probably not be enough to reach $150,000.

So, originally the single reward option (at $100) was limited to 200 pieces, yet the funding goal was/is $150,000!?!?!

What other rewards do you recommend? I am new to kickstart.

At least he's honest.

I would dearly love to test out that LED with a spectrophotometer... they claim 98CRI?  And at 3200k and 5600k?  That matches or exceeds the very best I've seen from specialist phosphor labs that make very niche LED's.  And they are using smaller packages with single dies.  When you get to these packages, they are just so inefficient, it seems, with light extraction and thermals.  It's the "Chinese sledgehammer" approach to LED design.. just tossing on more and more dies and pouring a silicon phosphor mix over the top.

Cheap, yes.  High efficiency?  No way.  High CRI?  I don't see how.

It's not always the most popular person who gets the job done.

If they lower the current of the dies at the same time it's an excellent way of increasing efficiency.

If he's really using QDs the CRI is not surprising, you're not tied to specific spectra with quantum dots ... it varies smoothly with the sizes.

I wouldn't be surprised if quantum dot based phosphors are such a patent minefield that no major company can launch a product ... and this guy is just obliviously walking into it.
