Title: Running a second campaign - good idea or no?

I ran a kickstarter campaign a while back (the xaVNA thing) and have delivered the first batch (of the T/R version) to backers, and the second batch is already under production. I'm trying to decide whether to take preorders in the meantime, or to only make available the product once it is in stock. Indiegogo charges a higher fee for preorders if you didn't run the campaign on indiegogo. Since I didn't run a indiegogo campaign my options are:

1. Run a new campaign on indiegogo for the second batch (with updated pricing so kickstarter investors still got a good deal), and smoothly transition into taking orders
2. Wait for indiegogo to get back to me (you have to contact them if you want to go directly into taking orders, and they take several weeks to respond), hopefully before the production finishes, and only take orders once in stock.

Which do you think is the better option?

I have also contacted crowdsupply, and since their fee for preorders is much higher I'll only be using them as a web store when I have stock.

Indiegogo is firmly associated with scamming among users of this forum.  Just saying.

Yes! I wouldn't think twice about backing something on Kickstarter, but I would be very hesitant to back anything on Indiegogo based on the number of stories of fraud and projects getting money when the minimum requirement is not fulfilled.

If your design isn't quite finished yet and/or you plan to stay with crowd funding forever then crowd funding may be the thing for you. If you plan to deliver professional products (to professionals)  then it becomes important that you have a regular shop with products on the shelf. You can sell items on your own webshop or you can have distributors selling the stuff for you.
