Anyway to get high quality image exports

I have started to experiment around with DipTrace as of late because I hear it is rather good.  I never used a piece of CAD software before and actually this is the first schematic I ever made for my PIC16 Binary counter.  Sadly I hade to make the Component myself because DipTrace does not have a PIC16F1829 PDIP but supprisingly I was able to make the schematic component and the pattern in just minutes without opening the help system.  Very impressed.  Now to my issue I made my schematic and it prints in great quality but when I save the printout as a jpeg or bitmap the quality of the text and lines get very crappy.  Is there anyway to fix this?

Here is a example of the jpeg version scaled to 200% on printout to make the text legible.

Hello, when you save the image try to increase your scale, so if you look at the image in smaller rezolution you will have a good image.

Try printing to a PDF printer driver too.

That's one of the things I don't like about DipTrace. The rendering of the schematic in the editor is absolutely crap, eye straining and basically unacceptable in these days of OpenGL, Direct3D, DirectX and whatever.  It should be trivial to get it right, right?

Any PC of reasonable vintage has immense processing power, so that can't be an excuse. The eighties and nineties are long gone, so cycle counting in the core drawing routines to get acceptable performance is something of the long gone past.

I think internally it rasterizes the schematic to a bitmap at a fixed scale, then downscale or upscale this image with a simple pixel skipping/duplication algorithm (not even bicubic interpolation), then draw the crappy result to the screen. The right way would be to rescale the vector data and rasterize that.

Render a bitmap at a much higher DPI/resolution than you would normally, like 600 or 1200, then bring it into good image software like Gimp (free) or Photoshop and scale it back down again. It'll antialias everything into nice smooth graphics.

Don't use jpg for your Schematic draw. Use a PDF Printer (actual Foxit Reader has a good PDF Printer Driver).

Line quality in Diptrace Schematic looks a bit better (for my eyes) if you increase the line width to 0,25 mm.

Ok thanks for all the tips totally forgot about this thread.  PDF seems to give good print quality renders.
