Title: Great DipTrace Video on pouring copper planes & auto-routing.
Post by: DerekG on December 24, 2016, 02:22:07 am
The DipTrace thread has been rather quiet for some time which is a shame.

I presume this is because the software is so easy to learn that newcomers find everything second nature :)

DipTrace is seen by some as "basic schematic & pcb design software" that is not very sophisticated.

Here is a video showing how to place copper pours on the internal layers of an 8 layer board, how to place fanout vias for multiple BGA SMD components & then how to auto-route the layers & check for any errors.

Now, this video was uploaded in 2011 using DipTrace ver 2.2. DipTrace has moved a long way since then to Ver 3.0.0.2 however the same "easy to learn" & "easy to use" philosophies still apply.

Remember that some of the best software programmers come out of the Ukraine. That is why both Altium & DipTrace (Novarm) have programmers located there.

Enjoy.

PS: Can we convince Dave to complete a new video as his old one ............. is very old :)
