Mask/paste setting on regular vias?
« on: December 01, 2012, 01:08:06 pm »
Hello everyone,

I can't figure out one thing: how do i adjust mask/paste setting for vias which are parts of traces? It's not a problem for 'static' vias, as there's a proper option in dropdown menu. However this doesn't seem to be the case for regular vias. Of course i can convert vias to static and then adjust setting, but I'm noty sure if this won;t have some impact on the design.

Anyone figured out how to adjust those settings without converting to static via?

When you go to export Gerbers turn off (uncheck) Via at Top Mask and Bottom Mask.

That won't do, because some vias have to be covered and some have to not be covered. I think the most natural way to do that would be to be able to set that property in 'via styles' window.

btw. the response from Diptrace developers was that it's not possible, and sctually the only way to adjust mask setting is to convert vias to 'static'.
