Sure, there's some minor defects with the page.

- Engrish
- no actual product shots (all renders)
- calls it Lightning Bolt, when the name is just Lightning
- logos of tech sites that have not published articles on the product or mentioned it at all
- an offer timer that counts to zero and then does nothing else
- one of the product shots shows a different form factor
- irrelevant circuit board shot
- MFi mis-capitalized. chances of actual certification: 0%

It appears to actually do something, judging by the amazon reviews. But it's more of a misfeature than something useful.

I've just pounced on their $64.99 five cable offer, too good to resist. I'm desperate to get a working one and by buying five in one go I'm covered if the other four turn out to be duds. Beware of fake McDoo-doo cables, they're really shit.

First of all, we all know all lithium batteries have protection, as they are extremely electrically fragile and will burn up otherwise. There's probably not even a protection circuit inside, just the charging coms circuit. You can get higher current through cable negotiation (either digital or analog through resistor bridges), but only if the device and power source support it.
