Whoever created that app doesn't understand the whole point of an inverter is to operate the HVAC in a more efficient way.

Is this an app for people who don't know how to adjust a thermostat? In that case, it should be made to know the weather and adjust accordingly.

There are loads of people who think it cools down faster when you set the temperature lower for a short while.
Like the on-off regulation also has ultra-on or something.

Granted, there are pid-on-off regulators, which will take the delay into account. Eg, they turn off before the room overshoots.
But as far as I know, undershoot is not a thing with ac.

Thinks the heat heats the house faster if you turn it up more, too. Both the heat and AC are on/off contacts.

Shoot, I've seen a one-man thermostat war before. HVAC system had a +/- 3 degree F deadband because it was a shit control. Couldn't make a coworker understand this, and he would get cold when the AC blew directly in his cube, see the see the thermostat set at 69 (it would then normally ride 72) turn it up to 74, it would get up to 77, then he would get hot and turn it back down, until he got cold again.

It got to a point the thermostat was less than 24 hours away from getting a load of epoxy shot into the knob to lock it on 69, before a supervisor stepped in and told him to keep his mitts off of it.

Soon, the thermostat acted up, and the fancy swanky remotely managed system got ripped out and a programmable residential type got put in, and the deadband was no more.

Phew! I thought I was the only one in this whole world suffering this condition.

I had a roommate like that at one point, drove me nuts. I eventually ran a temporary wire and put a thermostat in my bedroom in series with the main one leaving it as a dummy. Turning up the main thermostat would make the heat come on, but it would shut off as soon as the additional thermostat set point was reached. Never caught on  >:D

I lived in a university dorm and I had a similar roommate. The thermostat only had a range of like 8 degrees cause it was all centrally managed, but he always had it as hot as possible. My solution was to read the manual for the (left at default) secret password, then recalibrate it so the thermostat thought it was hotter than it really was. Thus the roommate couldn't increase the temperature more to get more heat.

Yeah.  That caused a blip on my radar as well ... but I can accept that as reasonable in order to find a default password on an obscure piece of equipment.
