Paranormal detector
« on: March 19, 2018, 12:21:34 am »
Fortunately, I currently have no need of this device (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rem-Pod-EMT-Programmable-Field-Temperature-Spirit-Ghost-Detection-Paranormal-New/112437050620?hash=item1a2dc53cfc:g:J7AAAOSwAO9ZOsZi).  But it's nice to know that should that should the need arise, it can respond within 100 mS!

Features:

Designed Exclusively For Professional Paranormal Investigators
With EM Radiating Antenna Detects Energy Disturbances & Fluctuations around the Antenna
Displays the Field Disturbance Using Multi-Colored Light Columns and Audible Tones
ATDD (Ambient Temperature Deviation Detection) feature to detect temperature changes

With an EM radiating antenna, does this device meet FCC approvals?
Also, what on earth does EM have to do with spirits?  Wouldn't a spirit radiating antenna be better suited?

Brian -

The spiritual plane can be disrupted by an EM pulse - this is common knowledge ;)

The common belief is that spirits emit and are affected by EM fields.

Have you not seen Ghostbusters? ::)

How does one calibrate this? Are there standard haunted items? Say, a doll that has one millihaunt?
Believe it or not, pointy haired people do exist!

Oh that's way too expensive. Big Clive, I'm pretty sure it was him, showed how to build one a few years back on one of his videos. Pretty simple, a couple of trannys, an LED, some caps, resistors, and some wire. Worked, too, detected EM radiation  ;D

Cost maybe a buck to make, if you had no junk box of components. Hmm, if I can sell for that kind of price...

Yeah, there's nothing much inside it, just an 8-bit micro and some sensors. The price is pure wankery. Unless they actually did over-engineer it with expensive parts just to make it seem "professional". :palm:
