Canadian Tire LED Flashlight
« on: May 27, 2018, 07:53:58 pm »
Bought a Canadian Tire LED flashlight for my next camping trip.  Opening up the package, the first thing I noticed was the power supply to charge the flashlight.  It a dual AC/DC charger.  So I thought, let's measure the exposed DC plug ends when plugged in on the AC outlet.

Yep...  6volts DC live.  At least it's not 120volts AC shooting out.  I expected better.

If I was a baby, I'd say the wall wart looks very much like having a shiny nipple... perfect size for grabbing, too.

That’s how you naturally grab the plug.  The charger is actually Intertek tested.  I guess it’s perfectly fine to have it hot with 6 volts.
