How do I really delete part(numbers)
« on: June 29, 2015, 07:37:50 pm »
Hi all,
still using Eagle 6.4 (just as info) and have a small nagging problem.
I had a large three sheet schematic and pcb and wanted to make another smaller pcb with only half of the parts.
So made a new project and I copied the old schematics to that folder and renamed it to the new project name.
Now comes the thing I am stuck with:
I moved (copy + paste) all necessary parts from the schematics pages 2 and 3 to one page 1, and then I deleted (removed) the other schematic pages (2+3).
I did a renumber parts on sheet 1 and added new parts.

What happens is that for instance I had 7 connectors K1..K7 from which K3..K7 were on pages 2 and 3 that are now deleted. I add a new connector, do a renumber parts command and the new connector gets number K8. Not K3  :(  Manually renaming that connector works most of the time but that is pretty stupid esp. when going to 40+ resistors renaming.

Has anyone a solution for this issue?
Thanks  :)
