[SOLVED] How do I seperate a trace from a copper pour
« on: March 26, 2017, 10:58:27 am »
Hi Everyone,

I have placed a capacitor (C1) between +5V and ground so I can dampen the initial voltage spike to U1, a 5mm through-hole mount NeoPixel.

I am using a copper fill on the top of the board as a power plane for the +5V supply. However, a problem I have encountered is that because C1 and U1 are both connected to the +5V rail, the copper fill and trace have joined together. Is there anyway could separate the two? I am using Eagle 8.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS, apologies for the schematic – I haven't quite finished adding details yet.

Cheer,
Cody

A quick and easy solution is to draw some small lines around it in layer 41 (tRestrict).

I use V7.7 and I'll never use V8.
