Just read this on the Eagle website

EAGLE PCB DESIGN SOFTWARE
 The name EAGLE is an acronym, which stands for Easily Applicable Graphical Layout Editor.
WHAT? acronym?? I think you mean anachronism don't you. Well at least I've had my daily laugh, I'll save Dilbert for a double chuckle tomorrow.

I Do Dilbert every day for his website. Try the mashups they are sometimes a real hoot.

They have it right.  EAGLE is an acronym.

Erm! It was a JOKE.. Eagles ancient and unwieldy UI is something out of it's correct time frame. Get it?  ;D

But It was exactly what happened when I read it on the website, my wife thought I was having a heart attack... Nothing about Eagle is easy but I have a warm spot for it now that I know where its name came from. Program still sucks though.

Couldn't agree more - horrible piece of software. Not at all intuitive, convoluted menus and commands and just down right ugly :)
