Import DXF
« on: June 06, 2016, 09:27:26 pm »
Hi,
I want to import an DXF file to Eagle, but I must be doing something wrong because it's not working, or at least not how I expected.

I've the DXF file, I went in Schematic - File - Import - DXF, I've try also with some ULP from the Eagle website, but it only appears some coil that is the schematic in there no matter what layer I select, or change to Nets, Measures, etc.

Maybe this is how it work, but I was expecting to see the pads, nets, am'I wrong on this?

You can't import actual circuit diagram from DXF, it is just a drawing.

The reason DXF import is there, so you could import board outline and other mechanical things. But it will never work for actual electrical circuit.

I agree on the schematic.   As for the board design, I import the board outline, cutouts, holes, etc. (everything except the routes) easily using one of the DXF-import ULPs.
