the default masks to effectively extend the masks?
« on: December 21, 2018, 07:05:55 pm »
Hi all, I'm new to Eagle CAD and still learning a lot. I really like its advanced high-speed features (differential pair routing, length matching, miter etc) which are great for complex designs.
I have made a custom library for it. In the library I am editing the 'package' (name for footprint in Eagle) which is where I am trying to edit the solder and paste mask of the fiducial.

I can't see how to adjust the default masks in there. Am I supposed to just draw a circle around the default masks to effectively extend the masks?

Type:

help smd

and hit "Enter"...

Code: [Select]
The following flags can be used to control the appearance of an smd:

NOSTOP   don't generate solder stop mask

NOTHERMALS   don't generate thermals

NOCREAM   don't generate cream mask

By default an smd automatically generates solder stop mask, cream mask and thermals as necessary. However, in special cases it may be desirable to have particular smds not do this.
The above NO... flags can be used to suppress these features.

If you uncheck the option for the solderstop mask, Eagle will not generate it automatically. In that case you can draw it yourself in layer 29 and 30.

Type:

help layer

and hit "Enter"...
The difference between theory and practice is less in theory than
the difference between theory and practice in practice.
Expensive tools cannot compensate for lack of experience.
