Voltage regulator eagle component for TO-92 and TO-220
« on: August 03, 2016, 04:41:42 am »
Hello all,

I am trying to use following voltage regulators in my design but not sure what component to use.

*TL750L05CLPR    TO-92-3
*TL750L05CLP      TO-92-3
*LM2930T-5.0/NOPB     TO-220-3

Right now I am using 78LXX from v-reg library which i am not sure would work with TO-92

I would like to know which component to use for each one of regulators and if there is any way to make it work with more than one regulator? something like this:

I appreciate any help.

An LM2930 or LM2940 in TO-220 package is pinout-compatible with the familiar 78xx series in TO-220.

The 78Lxx 100mA devices in TO-92 are "backwards" - output is the left-most and input is the right-most pin, as you look at the front of the device.

But ground is still the middle pin - you can still use them on the TO-220 footprint, if the 100mA output is adequate.
Splay the leads out a bit so that the TO-92 leads fit into the TO-220 holes, and flip the device around so that pin 1 and pin 3 are swapped.
